Kilne is a chef-tested cookware company based in Toronto. Kilne products are worthy of professional chefs but designed for home cooks. All of our products are meant to empower home cooks, allowing them to create magic in their kitchen through thoughtfully designed cookware. We are a collaborative team looking to fill the position of Procurement Specialist. Location: Remote Department: Operations Reports To: Operations Manager Type: Contract What you’ll do:

  • Supplier evaluation: Research, identify, and evaluate potential suppliers and manufacturers based on specifications and compliance with industry standards.
  • Ability to travel: Willing to visit suppliers, assess business fit, and strengthen relationship
  • Negotiation & contracting: Lead negotiations with suppliers to assist with cost optimization, terms, and conditions. Draft and finalize contracts.
  • Market research: Monitor market trends, industry innovations, and pricing to identify opportunities for cost reduction and optimization.
  • Relationship management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors. Address any performance issues or concerns.
  • Order management & quality control: Coordinate with internal teams to ensure that all materials or services are delivered on time, and meet quality standards.
  • Reporting: Maintain accurate supplier databases, track purchasing metrics, and report on sourcing performance regularly to management.
  • Compliance & risk management: Ensure that all sourcing activities comply with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards. Mitigate risks by conducting due diligence on suppliers.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or a related field (preferred).
  • 6-8 years experience in a similar role
  • Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of securing favorable terms.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage relationships with suppliers, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze data, market trends, and supplier performance to drive decision-making.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and sourcing/procurement software.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
