Job Title: Maintenance Engineer Department: Engineering & Maintenance Location: Trichy Reporting To: Incharge Job Summary: The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and repair of hospital facilities, equipment, and infrastructure. This includes managing electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to ensure a safe and efficient environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Key Responsibilities: Facility Maintenance & Operations:
- Oversee and ensure the proper functioning of hospital equipment, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and medical gas systems.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities as per schedule.
- Address breakdowns and emergency repairs promptly to minimize downtime.
- Maintain all biomedical and hospital infrastructure-related equipment in coordination with the Biomedical Engineering team.
- Monitor power supply, generators, UPS, lifts, water treatment plants, and fire safety systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards for hospital utilities.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with hospital policies and government regulations.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential hazards and rectify them.
- Maintain and update records of maintenance activities, safety checks, and audits.
- Liaise with external vendors and service providers for equipment maintenance and repairs.
- Supervise contractors working on hospital premises to ensure compliance with hospital standards.
- Procure spare parts and maintenance materials as required.
- Guide and train maintenance staff on safety protocols and operational procedures.
- Ensure effective team coordination to address maintenance issues efficiently.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide necessary technical support.
- Implement energy-saving measures and improve system efficiency.
- Monitor utility consumption and suggest cost-effective solutions.
- Education: Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering.
- Experience: 8 years of experience in hospital maintenance or facility management.
- Strong knowledge of hospital infrastructure, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
- Familiarity with NABH and other healthcare compliance standards.
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
