Maintenance Engineer

Job Title: Maintenance Engineer Department: Engineering & Maintenance Location: Trichy Reporting To: Incharge Job Summary: The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, maintenance, and repair of hospital facilities, equipment, and infrastructure. This includes managing electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to ensure a safe and efficient environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Key Responsibilities: Facility Maintenance & Operations:

• Oversee and ensure the proper functioning of hospital equipment, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and medical gas systems.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities as per schedule.
• Address breakdowns and emergency repairs promptly to minimize downtime.

• Maintain all biomedical and hospital infrastructure-related equipment in coordination with the Biomedical Engineering team.
• Monitor power supply, generators, UPS, lifts, water treatment plants, and fire safety systems.
• Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards for hospital utilities.

• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with hospital policies and government regulations.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify potential hazards and rectify them.
• Maintain and update records of maintenance activities, safety checks, and audits.

• Liaise with external vendors and service providers for equipment maintenance and repairs.
• Supervise contractors working on hospital premises to ensure compliance with hospital standards.
• Procure spare parts and maintenance materials as required.

• Guide and train maintenance staff on safety protocols and operational procedures.
• Ensure effective team coordination to address maintenance issues efficiently.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide necessary technical support.

• Implement energy-saving measures and improve system efficiency.
• Monitor utility consumption and suggest cost-effective solutions.

• Education: Diploma / Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering.
• Experience: 8 years of experience in hospital maintenance or facility management.

• Strong knowledge of hospital infrastructure, electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems.
• Familiarity with NABH and other healthcare compliance standards.
• Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
