JOB DESCRIPTION: Accounting Clerk
Accounting practice in Bloemfontein is looking for an Accounting Clerk to hire
- Performing Accounting duties such as recording, posting and processing day-to-day financial transactions and performing related reconciliations
- Calculate, reconcile VAT for clients as well as upload supporting audit documents
- Recording of cash book, petty cash, reconciliation of bank accounts, collection of debtors and creditors/inventories
- Prepare schedules for SARS income tax
- General admin tasks in relation to the financial department
- SARS Efiling knowledge is important
- Calls to SARS to inquire about cases on behalf of clients
- Bank reconciliations;
- Prepare monthly standard journals;
- Do monthly, quarterly and annual statistics;
- Ad hoc tasks.
- Grade 12 with Accounting;
- Current studies in B.Com or similar qualification will be beneficial;
- Previous Accountancy experience a recommendation.
- Taxation: 2 to 3 years
- General Experience: 2 to 3 years
- VAT payment preparation: 2 to 3 years

- Good communication and language skills in Afrikaans and English – both languages mandatory;
- Computer literate (MS Office);
- SAGE online accounting / Pastel experience;
- Excel experience;
- Numerical;
- Accounting insight;
- Good interpersonal skills;
- Ability to meet deadlines;
- Highly detail oriented and organized in work;
- Ability to show flexibility with changing priorities;
- Ability to take initiative and run with tasks on a month to month basis;
- Language skills – above average speaking, reading and writing skills in Afrikaans and English are essential. Both languages are compulsory.
