A little taste of your day-to-day Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:
- Assist in the daily operation and work in the bakery kitchen
- Create high quality and creative bakery products
- Follow the instructions and recommendations from the Executive Sous Chef to complete the daily tasks
- Ensure the highest standards and consistent quality in the daily preparation and keep up to date with new bakery recipes and preparation techniques
- Coordinate daily requirements in food preparation and actively take part in bakery set up of buffets and special functions
- Coordinate and participate with other sections of requirements, cleanliness, wastage and cost control
- Consult and check on daily bakery requirements, functions and last-minute events
- Ensure high standards of hygiene within the bakery kitchen
- 2-3 years of previous experience as a Commis Chef or Apprentice Chef in a Bakery
- Proficient with local rules and regulations involving Health, Safety, and HACCP
- The strength to lift, push and pull big objects up to 50lbs (23 kg) which can also involve bending and kneeling
- A good grasp of reading, writing and basic maths
- The flexibility to work night, weekend and holiday shifts
- Compliance with local laws on food handling and serving alcohol – you’ll need to be above the minimum age required and fluent in the local language
- Great communication – you’ll be warm, welcoming and easy to talk to
