Estimating Manager

Our client is looking for an experienced Estimating Manager to join their growing team. Leading the estimating team for the General Contracting arm of the business, this position will focus providing mentorship and development, while also managing strategic growth opportunities ensuring accuracy, compliance and efficiency. Key Responsibilities Include:
- Effectively lead and mentor the Estimating team, ensuring appropriate training and development.
- Lead, oversee and assist the preparation of detailed quantity calculations and cost estimates for projects, including labour, materials, equipment, time, and subcontractor requirements.
- Manage and coordinate the bid process, ensuring all estimates are prepared, reviewed and submitted on time and in accordance with client requirements.
- Provide strategic leadership and guidance in providing competitive bids, ensuring accuracy in scope of work and costing.
- Oversee and coordinate the preparation and turnover of bid documents to the projects team.
- Attend site visits, pre-bid meetings, and business development meets as required.
- Effectively manage relationships with all stakeholders, including internal teams, clients, vendors and subcontractors.
- Continuously look to optimize processes within the Estimating function to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in management or lead estimation roles with a focus on building and infrastructure construction projects is required.
- Post secondary degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction management or related field of study is considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of different construction methods.
- Knowledge of P6 and/or MS Project is required.
- Previous experience in working with Bluebeam, CAD, or similar takeoff software.
- Demonstrated experience in effectively leading estimating teams, processes, and driving efficiencies within the function.
- Confident communicator with the ability to effectively manage relationships with all stakeholders.
- Ability to travel to different work sites as required.
