System Design Engineer

Context: To strengthen the IKOS team in Canada we are looking for Railway System Design Engineer to work on large-scale railway projects. Responsibilities:
- Develop system, subsystem, and interface requirements by analyzing customer and train control domain needs.
- Supports system architecture, with a focus on integrating Communication-Based Train Control (CBTC) systems
- Specialize in network design , covering communication network requirements, design, configuration, and performance analysis (wired and wireless).
- Troubleshoot complex network issues and assess third-party communication network integration with CBTC.
- Works on data engineering focusing on managing and optimizing data for key train control functions
- Perform feasibility analysis and simulations to identify design requirements.
- Define and update processes and standards based on systems engineering principles.
- Work with various teams to resolve issues during analysis and field testing.
- Ensure safety is built into designs by identifying and resolving safety defects early.
- Guarantee that the signaling design is executed in compliance with relevant standards and established signaling principles.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Systems, Electrical, Computer), Computer Science, or a related technical engineering field.
- Experience in developing software-based system applications.
- Knowledge of modern software engineering practices and the system development life cycle.
- Experience with tools like DOORS and other similar software
- Knowledge of railway signaling systems and systems engineering principles.
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
