Job Description and Responsibilities The Category Manager for Energy Resources is responsible for leading & driving the category management process for the essential energy commodities: Electricity, Natural Gas, Gases (Cylinder & Bulk). The person in this role will lead and train cross-functional and cross-regional teams to study, research and improve the efficiency of the assigned categories as well as generate cost-savings.

  • Manage the category portfolio and lead cross-functional teams across the Company
  • Develop and drive category strategies to meet the overall goals of EVRAZ NA, improve the supply chain and generate savings
  • Provide market intelligence update to business teams to ensure the strategy is meeting business objectives
  • Understand supply market – production routes, vendor share, delivery mode, price trends and supply chain impacts
  • Conduct negotiations, initiate contract legal and finance reviews, obtain internal approvals, review performance after implementation
  • Gather and analyze procurement metrics using data collection techniques in order to report results to be used in business plan and strategy development
  • Facilitate the development of Power BI reports for the assigned categories
  • Performs other duties as they might be assigned (
Requirements
  • Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Steelmaking, Energy Engineering or Business Administration
  • Min 5 years’ experience in purchasing function in heavy manufacturing & multi-tasking environment
  • Significant category management background with proven results and generated cost savings
  • Travel up to 5% of the time
  • Ability to work with/lead cross functional team consisting of teammates from various functions (Operations, Logistics, Finance, Legal, etc.)
  • Special knowledge in major energy categories like Electricity & Natural Gas
  • Knowledge of supplier market for Energy in the US and Canada
  • Excellent communicational skills and ability to engage major stakeholders including VPs
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision while performing duties
  • Strong computer skills including Excel, Power Point, Word, & Power BI
Compensation
  • $115,000-120,000 based on experience
