Our client is currently looking to welcome to their team a new Welding Engineer/Technologist for a 6-month position in Victoria, BC. Job Responsibilities :

  • Reviewing welding project specification
  • Providing welding material recommendations.
  • Developing new welding procedure specifications.
  • Creating welding procedure data sheets
Required Skills :
  • Completion of formal four (4) year apprenticeship is an asset.
  • Demonstrate continuing education courses over the past employment.
  • Knowledge of both structural and plate steel capabilities
  • Basic knowledge of metallurgy and welding of a wide variety of metals (e.g. copper, aluminum, cast iron, and stainless metals)
  • Knowledge of all types of welding rods and related fluxes and products.
  • Layout/fit up principles and practices.
  • Applicable welding codes and standards.
  • Knowledge of welding specifications.
  • Experience in welding inspection, NDE and testing will be considered an asset.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings.
  • Knowledge of layout spaces and relationships.
  • Knowledge of material safety data sheets (MSDS).
  • Ability to use small office equipment and computers
