Production Manager Ottawa, ON Job Description: Our client, a leading organization in the Food Industry , is seeking a Production Manager to oversee food manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of accountability, a results-oriented mindset, and a commitment to driving continuous improvement and high performance. This role requires taking full ownership of operational success and fostering a culture of accountability and excellence. The incumbent must have experience in the Food Industry. This position is on-site in Ottawa, ON. Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with production planning to execute schedules, optimize efficiency, and address disruptions promptly.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations while maintaining a safe and compliant work environment.
- Lead, mentor, and motivate production teams to meet targets and achieve high performance standards.
- Monitor and enforce quality control processes to ensure all products meet stringent safety and quality standards.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels for finished products and ensure timely production and delivery.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and operational efficiency.
- Track and analyze production metrics, including OEE, and take corrective actions to meet performance goals.
- Plan and adjust staffing levels in real-time to meet production needs and ensure smooth operations.
- Prepare and present reports on production performance, highlighting achievements, challenges, and actionable insights.
- 2-5 years of supervisory experience in food production or distribution, managing a unionized workforce.
- Proven leadership and decision-making abilities, with a strong sense of accountability.
- Knowledge of food safety and quality standards such as HACCP and GMP.
- Experience with production planning, inventory management software, and OEE metrics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Demonstrated success in identifying and implementing process improvements.
