Senior Water Resources Engineer Our client, a well-established, employee-owned multidisciplinary engineering consulting firm, is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer to join their growing Vancouver Water Resources Department. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer looking to lead significant projects and collaborate with industry leaders across Canada and North America. The Role: This role offers a dynamic working environment with opportunities for professional growth. You will be working alongside industry leaders on key water resource projects, with responsibilities that include managing teams, overseeing multi-disciplinary projects, and interacting with clients. If you are looking for a role that combines technical expertise with leadership, business development, and client engagement, this could be the ideal fit. Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and modelling
  • Design hydraulic structures, water conveyance, and storage systems
  • Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications
  • Create bid/proposal packages and professional presentations
  • Collaborate with project teams and other disciplines within the firm
  • Maintain and develop strong client relationships
  • Manage water resources projects from start to finish, including budgeting and client management
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities with both new and existing clients
  • Mentor and manage junior engineering staff
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) in civil engineering, specializing in water resources (Master’s degree is an asset)
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years in water resources engineering with strong project management skills (consulting experience preferred)
  • Skills:
  • Proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic studies and designs, including numerical modelling
  • Strong knowledge of industry-standard software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proactive problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams
  • Organizational skills and experience managing time and resources efficiently
  • Programming skills are considered an asset
Additional Requirements:
  • Professional Registration: Must be registered or eligible to register as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in British Columbia, as well as other Canadian provinces.
  • Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to job sites
  • Willingness to work extended hours when necessary to meet deadlines
  • The position is primarily based out of the Vancouver office, with some travel to various outdoor project sites as needed.
