ISP Malaysia - Straits International School Rawang Art Teacher - Role Profile Purpose of Role We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Teacher for Art. IGCSE Experience is required and a proven track record of exam success. ISP Principles Begin with our children and students. Our children and students are at the heart of what we do.   • Develop and prepare the scheme of work, lesson plans, and instructional materials for the assigned art subjects, ensuring alignment with the IGCSE curriculum.
  • Modify teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs and learning styles of students within the class.
Classroom Instruction:
  • Deliver engaging, student-centered lessons, fostering creativity, critical thinking, and artistic skills.
  • Implement differentiated teaching practices to ensure that all students achieve their learning potential.
Assessment & Evaluation:
  • Regularly assess students' progress through various formative and summative assessments.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students and prepare detailed reports for the Head of Department (HoD), Campus Principal, and parents.
Professional Development:
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest teaching methodologies, educational technologies, and developments in the field of art education.
  • Attend professional development sessions and workshops to continuously improve teaching practices.
Extra-Curricular Activities:
  • Actively participate in school-wide activities, such as art exhibitions, student workshops, and cultural events.
  • Support the organization and execution of extra-curricular art-related activities.
Role Modeling & Student Support:
  • Serve as a role model for students by promoting humanistic education, positive behavior, and personal integrity.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to students both inside and outside the classroom to foster personal growth and artistic development.
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or any related field
  • Teaching certification (IGCSE experience preferred).
  • Proven experience teaching art in an international school setting, particularly at the IGCSE level.
  • Strong knowledge of the IGCSE Art curriculum and assessment methods.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, colleagues, and parents.
