Position: Media Planner Reporting to: Manager Scope of the role: As Media Planner, you operate at the very heart of the business. The team you work with has been tasked with creating a recognized market-leading position in implementational/executional management and client servicing. Reporting Structure: You report directly to the Manager. You are expected to manage the executives and interns on your team as well as any specialist delivery services that are being deployed in your business. The role encompasses: Involvement in the media strategy development process. The creation of media plans that build from the core media idea developed with the strategy team assigned to each individual client. Identification and management of creative/innovative media initiatives that are born out of the strategic media direction. Management of the implementation of plans through to their delivery and quality control of all buys. Ensuring all media goals and strategies are delivered and executed within budgets. Key Responsibilities: Client relationship management Day to day account management of key clients. Ensure quality of media/administrative product for the team’s external communications with the client for Buyers and Assistants. Involvement in creative development workshops and development of strategic recommendations. Support ideation in media approach. Origination of the Media Plan Working with the Manager and client to create clear and coherent plans that bring the media strategy to life. In-depth assessment of all candidate media options and detailed recommendation of proposed communication solutions. Involvement in creative development workshops as required. Working closely with the Manager in your team to ensure smooth and relevant translation from strategy to plan. Assess, identify and recommend creative media initiatives that deliver greater strategy depth and impact to the media plan. Undertake the implementation of agreed initiatives, including the briefing of third parties, as and when required. Able to pull historical data from past campaigns and run forecasts on platform (YT/Meta) to provide feasible benchmarks on channel planning. Management of the implementational process and client relationship management Lead the implementational planning process. Origination of detailed briefs for relevant third party units (e.g., the Buying Unit, Direct etc.), working with the Business Director. Day to day management and ownership of implementation process. Ensure brief is delivered/brought to plan, within appropriate criteria (budget, target ...). Provide written brief to Buyers for all media. Principal client contact for the whole implementation process (from presentation of detailed recommendations to negotiation and inventory management issues). Supervision of collation and reporting of competitive data in agreed formats. Timely delivery and upkeep of all relevant reporting systems and templates (media plans, contact reports, status reports). Management of post campaign reporting that quantifies the value of the media strategy. This will also include providing insights and recommendations for future campaign implementation. Able to collate landscape/category updates from market monitoring tools (Euromonitor/e-marketer) and be able to provide POVs and Insights on the findings. Quarterly and ad-hoc reviews. Assist in market research and analysis. Finance communication Ensure media proformas are checked correctly and returned to Finance within the agreed timeframe. Work closely with finance team to ensure accuracy. Managing your relationship with team and the specialist relationships Internal Managing your direct reports, Buyers and Assistants - clear and accurate briefing of them. Integration with buyers. External Build effective working relationships with creative agency personnel plus other specialist agency personnel.
