Librarian

Job Title: Reference Librarian The Reference Librarian will be responsible for providing reference and research assistance to library patrons in a timely and efficient manner. This individual will also assist with collection development, cataloging, and other administrative duties as needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of library resources and search techniques, as well as excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist patrons in locating and accessing library resources, both physical and digital.
2. Provide research assistance and instruction on the use of library databases.
3. Assist with collection development by identifying relevant materials for acquisition.
4. Catalog new materials according to established standards.
5. Maintain accurate records of circulation and inventory.
6. Keep up-to-date with current trends in library services and technologies.
7. Collaborate with other librarians to plan and implement programs and events.
8. Provide excellent customer service to all library patrons.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field (Master's degree preferred).
2. Minimum of 2 years experience working in a library setting.
3. Strong knowledge of reference resources, search techniques, and online databases.
4. Familiarity with cataloging standards such as MARC21 or AACR2.
5. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
6. Customer service oriented with the ability to work well with diverse populations.
7. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
8. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
9. Must have a valid biometric passport for travel purposes.
