Project Manager – Civil/ Structure (Data centers)
The Civil/ Structure Construction Manager will effectively help manage the successful construction of the Edgnex- Data Centre to agreed principles and timescales with a leaning to effective cost management and required quality levels to ensure successful completion. The Civil/ Structure Manager will take instruction from the Senior PM of PMT but is expected to operate autonomously within the construction function from supervision through to the construction, testing and commissioning till handing over. The role will also focus on Civil/ Structure tasks related to the construction of the data centre. As a senior person in Damac, you may be asked to lead and manage a team of Civil/ Structure consultants and contractors, engineers, and trainees and you will guide them in your Civil/ Structure discipline and monitor the quality of their work. Internal and external stakeholder management will likely be a function of the role to ensure the development of the data centre project is as per construction quality standards, schedules, timelines, and specifications. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Job role functions:- Coordinate with manufacturers for the Civil/ Structure long lead items for delivery, T&C, payments.
- Coordinate with the planning team to develop the Civil/ Structure program of works for the data centre and to follow up on the progress.
- Co-ordinate all Civil/ Structure works to ensure timely accurate delivery of the project including liaison with procurement, sales, operations, consultants, quantity surveyors, and selected contractors.
- Co-ordinate and work with Engineers, Consultants, and Contractors in regards to all the Civil/ Structure works.
- Develop and assist with the Civil/ Structure aspects of testing and commissioning, including the appointed T&C specialists from Damac and the contractors team.
- Civil/ Structure Manager will supervise the schedule and timeline of the construction of the data centre.
- Co-ordinate with the LLE vendor.
- Ensure quality and specificity are followed during the project construction till completion/handover of the data centre.
- Assist/Co-ordinate with the Damac team and operatives on the Civil/ Structure contract documents that will be issued to general and sub-contractors for their appointment after the selection process of interviews and bid leveling has been achieved.
- Perform technical evaluation of selected consultants and contractors in terms of performance, quality of information received, and technical compliance.
- Work with the Procurement team on the budgets for new and existing Data Centre projects.
- Attend design review workshops with consultants and contractors.
- Attend weekly construction progress meetings with consultants and contractors.
- Work with Damac on the closing of projects as relating to the Civil/ Structure systems to ensure that all Civil/ Structure related aspects of work are concluded.
- Review change requests as they relate to Civil/ Structure aspects that occur through the project timeline.
- Work with operations and project management to ensure the site teams that include the appointed peer review engineers are effectively managing defects and these are being closed out in a timely manner.
- Check all Civil/ Structure related project documentation against the concept to ensure it is accurate and is in accordance with the design intent.
- Support the construction team with respect to Civil/ Structure design and construction management of project costs in line with the approved business case.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to communicate effectively with manager and engineers from Edgnex, Damac, contractors, and customers on specific tasks.
- Very organized and able to conduct essential business calmly and focused under pressure.

- Previous experience working on Data Centre and large Civil/ Structure projects is essential; the successful applicant will have Project Management experience and an ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
- Ideally hold a recognized university degree related to Civil/ Structure engineering; Master's degree is a plus.
- Have at least 8 years design experience as a minimum.
- Have extensive knowledge of design of Civil/ Structure in particular to data centers that are backed up by experience in a design environment that relates to critical systems and infrastructure.
- Highly experienced in delivering high-end quality design and projects to client satisfaction.
- Have a good knowledge of MS Office, ACAD, ETAP, and other software related systems.
- Able to fully develop and manage the end-to-end design process related to their discipline.
- Highly experienced in the identification, analysis, and management of design and installation risks and issues and can apply mitigation methods to reduce/remove the issues and risks.
- Be highly competent in managing project issues to successful closure.
- Capable of delivering to set design and project quality criteria within the cost constraints as applied to the works.
- Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate a complete ability to develop and use ETAP modelling tools for the early design phase.
