Job Role: Security and Safety Consultant (risks and threats) Experience: +5 years Notice Period: As soon as possible Key Role: The Security and Safety Consultant will assess, plan, and implement strategies to ensure the safety and security of the museum project in Mecca, addressing both risks and threats during the design, construction, and operational phases. This role requires expertise in identifying potential vulnerabilities, mitigating risks, and creating a secure environment for the facility, its artifacts, visitors, and staff. Responsibilities
  1. Risk Assessment and Analysis: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential security and safety threats to the museum project, including physical, environmental, and operational risks. Analyze vulnerabilities specific to the museum environment, such as artifact security, fire risks, crowd management, and emergency scenarios.
  2. Safety and Security Planning: Develop and implement safety and security plans tailored to the museum’s unique requirements. Recommend protective measures for construction sites, exhibit spaces, storage areas, and public facilities. Create emergency response plans, including evacuation procedures and disaster management protocols. Design and recommend solutions to address risks such as theft, vandalism, terrorism, and natural disasters. Propose and oversee the implementation of advanced security systems, including surveillance, access control, and intrusion detection systems. Ensure integration of safety and security measures with the overall design and construction plans.
  3. Compliance and Standards: Ensure that all security and safety plans comply with local regulations, international standards, and best practices. Conduct regular audits and inspections to verify compliance and identify areas for improvement.
  4. Collaboration and Training: Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to integrate safety and security measures into the project design and execution. Provide training and awareness programs for construction workers, museum staff, and stakeholders on security and safety protocols. Coordinate with local law enforcement, emergency services, and regulatory bodies to ensure alignment with external security requirements.
  5. Incident Response and Investigation: Develop protocols for reporting and investigating security breaches or safety incidents. Analyze incidents to identify root causes and implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
  6. Museum-Specific Requirements: Address the unique security and safety challenges of museums, such as protecting priceless artifacts, managing large crowds, and ensuring cultural sensitivity. Design security systems that align with the museum’s aesthetic and operational needs.
Recommended Technical Skills
  1. Strong knowledge of risk assessment methodologies and tools.
  2. Expertise in designing and implementing physical security measures, including surveillance, access control, and fire safety systems.
  3. Familiarity with international safety and security standards, such as ISO 31000 (Risk Management) and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety).
  4. Experience in creating emergency response and disaster management plans.
  5. Proficiency in security system design software and tools.
  6. Understanding of museum-specific security and safety requirements.

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s or Diploma in Engineering, Risk Management, Security Studies, or an equivalent field.
