Job Purpose The Whole School Pastoral Lead will be responsible for ensuring the wellbeing, behavior, and development of all students across the school. The Pastoral Lead will ensure students' emotional and social needs are met while promoting a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment. Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the pastoral care system for students across the school, ensuring a consistent and effective approach to student well-being.
  • Lead the development and implementation of a whole-school approach to mental health, wellbeing, and behavior management.
  • Support the senior leadership team in shaping and maintaining the school's ethos around student care.
  • Monitor and track the progress of students' wellbeing and intervene when necessary, providing support to students and families.
  • Act as a point of contact for staff, parents, and external agencies regarding student welfare concerns.
  • Develop and lead student support programs, including peer mentoring, anti-bullying initiatives, and personal development opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate records of student well-being and behavior and report regularly to senior leadership.
  • Organize and participate in events, workshops, and activities that promote student engagement and mental health awareness.

Skills

Skills and Qualifications
  • A relevant degree (Bachelor's or Master's in Education), specialized degree in Psychology or Educational Psychology.
  • Previous experience in a pastoral care role, ideally in a school environment.
  • Strong understanding of child protection and safeguarding procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with students, staff, and parents.
  • A commitment to promoting diversity, inclusion, and mental health awareness.

  • Empathy and a caring attitude toward students.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle sensitive situations.

Education
