Strong Hands-on experience with configuring and troubleshooting High availability solutions. 2. Proficient knowledge in System performance by tuning SQL queries by using available SQL native tools (SQL Profiler, DMVs, DBCC, DB Tuning advisor) and monitoring tools. 3. Highly skilled and self-motivated senior SQL DBA to help lead the design, optimization and support of our rapidly growing enterprise SQL environment. 4. Must possess good written and verbal communication skills to be able to interact with other teams and coordinate complex efforts. Good-to-Have Microsoft Database Administration certification – MCSA SN Role descriptions / Expectations from the Role 1 Duties · Support during business critical hours and on-call support during off hours · Implement proven solutions in case of major incidents considering business impact and database availability · Implementing ITIL practices to deploy any major to minor changes to the database infrastructure · Automate the monitoring of alerts and configuring alerts to ensure database availability/stability · Coordination with other teams like Windows/SAN/Network/Performance teams to drive RCA · Must demonstrate and ability to work independently. 2 Job Description – · Experience in MS SQL database design and implementation, performance tuning and optimization, administration and support including security components on multiple versions of SQL Server · Expert-level proficiency in administration and maintenance of standalone and clustered SQL Server instances, including SQL Server, Reporting Service (SSRS), Integration Services (SSIS) and Analysis Services (SSAS), in development, testing, staging and production environments · Must have experience of SQL Server environments including High Availability, Replication, Disaster Recovery and Cluster Environment · Expert level knowledge of developing and support complex Data Warehouses · Review and approve the major script deployments after conducting appropriate testing on lower environment servers · Performing Database health checkouts in case of any major alerts OS/Storage/Network level · Examining High Availability or Disaster Recovery Logs – Check high availability and/or disaster recovery process logs. Depending on the solution (Log Shipping, Clustering, Replication, Database Mirroring, CDP, etc.) that you are using dictates what needs to be checked · Strong understanding of database security · Design native scripts using T-SQL to monitor Always-on, Replication, Mirroring, Log shipping · Monitoring Clusters or design own native scripts using Windows Batch Programming, Powershell and T-SQL
