Job details
The Purchasing Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the procurement department by assisting in the efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. This position requires a highly organized and detail-oriented individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Key Responsibilities:
- Source and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate prices and terms, and place purchase orders.
- Maintain accurate records of all purchasing activities, including purchase orders, invoices, and delivery receipts.
- Track and expedite orders to ensure timely delivery.
- Resolve any discrepancies or issues related to orders or deliveries.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of supplier relationships.
- Prepare and maintain vendor files.
- Assist with inventory management and control.
- Provide administrative support to the procurement department as needed.
- Experience: 2 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role preferred.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with ERP systems or procurement software is a plus.
