About us Haskoning Australia delivers tailor made engineering and scientific solutions to our clients across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific. We are experts in the maritime, river, estuarine and coastal sectors, providing consultancy advice and civil and structural design services to clients in a number of sectors. What will you do You will be responsible for business development & sales and be a technical leader in the Water & Maritime Advisory Group, leading technical teams and/or managing large projects, utilising your engineering/project management background. In terms of focus, around 30-40% of your time will be on business development and sales, and around 60-70% on executing projects in various technical roles. In that sense it is a dual role, and commercial skills are equally important as the right technical skills. One particular sub-market that the role will be responsible for developing is the Defence market in Australia in relation to maritime works, which is expected to be a growth market for us in the years to come, so a background in or exposure to that would be ideal. You will have a major impact on our position across the Ports & Terminals market and our ability to win and execute maritime projects. Using your experience and market connections, you will play a key role in showing and growing our expertise and will also significantly contribute to account management and our profitability and reputation. An outward-looking focus, with an ability to prioritise work, delivering quality solutions and gaining high levels of client satisfaction will be critical, and you will bring with you an established network of key people within your market and supporting services. You will also play a major role in executing the secured projects in terms of project managing them, in line with RHDHV guidelines and procedures. In that respect you will act as Client facing project manager, utilizing effective communication, resource allocation, and risk management to ensure project success. In addition you will lead technical teams, ensuring the team follows best practices and standards. You will also mentor and support team members, helping them solve complex technical issues. The role can be based in either Sydney/Brisbane/Newcastle, however, travel to our other Australian offices and project locations will be required. In addition, you may be required to travel to some of our other offices/project location in the Asia Pacific Region to promote connectivity across the unit.
