  • The Director, Works and Services, is responsible for managing and maintaining the university's physical infrastructure, including buildings, roads, utilities, gardens, parks and landscape.
  • The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership and direction for the Works and Services Department, ensuring that the university's physical environment is safe, functional, and conducive to learning.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Works and Services Department.
  • Plan, organize, and supervise the maintenance and repair of university buildings, roads, and utilities, gardens, landscape and parks.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for the management of the university's physical infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that the university's physical environment is safe and functional.
  • Manage the department's budget and resources.
  • Supervise and evaluate the performance of staff in the Works and Services Department.
Requirements
  • At least a second-class lower honours degree in a relevant field (e.g., Civil Engineering, Architecture, Quantity Surveying).
  • A minimum of 15 years of post-qualification experience in a relevant field, with at least 5 years in a senior management position.
  • Proven experience in managing physical infrastructure in a university or similar institution.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Applicants should not be over sixty (60) years old when applying.
Conditions of Service
  • The successful candidate will be appointed for a single term of four (4) years and entitled to the benefits and allowances approved by the Federal Government of Nigeria and the Governing Council as the case may be.
