Commercial Finance Analyst The Commercial Finance function is responsible for ensuring the business remains commercially focused through its large customer accounts, managing the relationship with its regulating body and other parties, Trading and Settlements, Demand Planning, Tariff setting and Price Control Reviews. Reporting to the Senior Commercial Analyst, the role will involve applying financial models to produce revenue and tariff information, preparing reports, papers and presentations for approval. Duties:
- Understand and monitor compliance with ROI Contracts
- Prepare annual ROI Regulated Revenue & Tariff submissions for the energy regulator
- Support the regulatory tariff reporting process.
- Build tariff and revenue models, financial analysis as part of price control reviews.
- Evaluate and present commercial initiatives and their financial impact on tariffs
- Participate in ENTSOG tariff work groups and analyse impact of EU directives on tariffs structures in ROI.
- Analyse and prepare responses to industry consultations at National and European level.
- Develop different transportation tariff structures for the Irish market, including Biomethane, Hydrogen and CNG tariff development.
- Evaluate, draft and present various proposals to the CRU (e.g. connection policy issues, tariff structure, and revenue recovery etc.)
- Prepare revenue projections for both regulated and unregulated revenue streams, including the GNI(UK) and Northern Ireland business.
- Calculate revenues to be invoiced in accordance with unregulated contracts, including the GNI(UK), PTL, Corrib, IOM, EPS etc. businesses.
- Third level degree in Business/Finance/Economics and/or a professional accounting qualification essential.
- 3 - 5 years’ experience, ideally in the energy industry with an understanding of the regulatory environment in Ireland.
- Proven financial/numerical modelling skills in Microsoft Excel is essential e.g. ability to build macros.
