Responsibilities:
- Ensure consistency of VM standards across all the stores as per the new Visual Merchandising Guidelines and KMP’s.
- Planning and implementation of window roll out as per the pack provided by the Concept Visual Merchandising Department.
- Coordinate with department in charges (Household and Furniture) for New Arrivals/Best Price/ Must Have/Promotional/Fast- and Slow-moving SKU’s for product presentation and visual implementation, so as to make display look appealing yet commercial value.
- Non-Trading orders related to shop fittings and risers should only be handled by the Visual Merchandising Coordinator/Visual Merchandising Management.
- Visual Merchandisers should be responsible for creating Visual Hits and Focal Displays across all departments; however, the daily maintenance and housekeeping should be taken care of by the department staff of the respective departments.
- Once a Visual hit or Focal Display is set up or an area is re-merchandised, the department in charge MUST take detailed photographs of the sections for their reference.
- A Visual hit/Focal display can last 4-6 weeks depending on stock availability or the guidelines.
- Visual Merchandiser should not be utilized for SRN loading and unloading.
- Showroom requisition and stocking of shelves should ONLY be handled by the department staff with the supervision of their Team Leaders.
- Visual Merchandisers should not be engaged in the development and implementation of price tags from HCISS but must ensure that items have proper bar codes before displaying.
- Visual Merchandisers should only be responsible for dressing room sets, the sofa bay, dining bay, and any related furniture sections.
- Daily upkeep and housekeeping of the room sets, sofa bay, and dining bay should be taken care of by the department in charge and NOT the Visual Merchandisers. This includes:
- Replacing items taken by customers across all areas in the Furniture.
- Fixing and tidying up beddings in room sets that have become messy due to trading.
- Straightening dining and coffee table settings that have become messy due to trading.
- Store Managers and floor in charge should plan and delegate the work expected from the Visual Merchandising Team.
- Experienced Visual Merchandiser should take a minimum of 2 hours in setting up a room set, with 1 experienced Visual Merchandiser engaged per room, assisted by the store team/helpers to put up a frame or mirrors as required.
- Trainee Visual Merchandiser should take a maximum of 3 hours in setting up a room set, with 2 Trainee Visual Merchandisers engaged per room, assisted by the store team to put up a frame or mirrors as required.
- VM completion form to be filled up after setting room sets and kept on file for tracking, to be signed by the VMC or Store Manager.
- Visual Merchandisers should not be alone when shifting furniture from one room to another or in the bay area; this should be done with the support of the Store team or helpers available in the store.
- Furniture shifting plan to be filled up by the VMC and discussed with Store Team Leaders for proper planning.
