Job Title Account Manager Grade: Department: Account Operations Management Reports To: Managing Director/ CEO / Account Director Job Purpose: As an Account Manager at our marketing & events agency, you will be the primary point of contact for our clients, responsible for managing client relationships and developing the business, overseeing project execution and financials, and ensuring that client expectations are met or exceeded in addition to meeting agency targets. You will work closely with internal teams to deliver successful events, from concept through to execution, while maintaining a focus on client satisfaction and project profitability. Duties - include but are not limited to:

  1. Client Relationship Management:
  • Serve as the main contact for assigned clients, maintaining strong, ongoing relationships.
  • Understand client needs and objectives and translate these into clear event briefs.
  • Proactively communicate with clients, providing regular updates and managing expectations.
  • Develop business by turning briefs into real business, approaching new clients and building strong relations.
  • Project Management:
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of events, ensuring all projects are completed on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (creative, production, logistics, etc.) to ensure seamless event delivery.
  • Prepare and manage project detailed briefs, timelines, budgets, and post-event reports.
  • Sales and Business Development:
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to grow existing and potential client accounts.
  • Assist in the development of proposals and presentations for new business pitches.
  • Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximize profits.
  • Financial Management:
  • Monitor project budgets and ensure profitability.
  • Approve invoices and manage client billing in collaboration with the finance department.
  • Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with the creative and production teams to develop innovative event concepts.
  • Lead project teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across all departments.
  • Mentor and support junior staff, providing guidance and development opportunities.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Ensure all deliverables meet the client’s quality standards and brand guidelines.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations to gather feedback and identify areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
  1. Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • Experience:
  • 5-7 years of experience in account management within a marketing & events agency or related industry.
  • Proven track record of managing successful events and building strong client relationships.
  • Skills:
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Financial acumen with experience managing budgets.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in event management software and tools.
Working Conditions:
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
  • Occasional travel may be required for on-site event management.
