Job Title: Senior Backend Engineer (API Specialist) Location: Remote Employment Type: Full-Time Experience: 7+years About the Role We are seeking an experienced Senior Backend Enginee r with a strong focus on API development to join our team. In this role, you will design, implement, and optimize scalable API solutions while collaborating across teams to ensure seamless integration and performance. The ideal candidate is passionate about backend engineering, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has a deep understanding of modern API technologies and best practices. Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain APIs (REST, SOAP, gRPC) ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define API specifications, and implement solutions.
- Work with SpringBoot and Java to develop and deploy backend services.
- Utilize GraphQL or NoSQL to implement efficient data access solutions.
- Leverage Azure cloud services for deployment, monitoring, and scaling backend systems.
- Conduct API contract testing and ensure adherence to best practices in API management.
- Analyze and address technical challenges in API design and implementation, weighing the pros and cons of various models.
- Participate in code reviews, mentor junior developers, and contribute to team growth.
- 7+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer with a focus on API development.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with SpringBoot and Java .
- 2+ years of experience working with GraphQL or NoSQL .
- 2+ years of experience with Azure cloud platform.
- Proficient in implementing and managing various API models ( REST, SOAP, gRPC ) and understanding their trade-offs.
- Strong knowledge of API contract testing and best practices in API management.
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience with microservices architecture.
- Exposure to performance optimization for large-scale systems.
