Austco Polar Cold Storage is an export-focused company specialising in blast freezing, storage, and export handling services, primarily for the meat industry. We are export-accredited to key global markets, including China, the EU, Japan, Korea, the Middle East, and the USA. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead the operations and drive the strategic growth of our business. Reporting to the Directors, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end management of the company, ensuring operational excellence, maintaining compliance with international standards, and strengthening relationships with key stakeholders. About the role: A snapshot of this role’s responsibilities include: Strategic Leadership: Oversee day-to-day operations and streamline processes to ensure efficiency, quality and scalability across Business Operations, Financial Management, Project Management, Office, Events and Partnerships. Business Operations: Lead and oversee the operational team along with identifying, developing and implementing opportunities to mitigate risks and optimise the efficiency, productivity and quality of operational processes. Financial Management: Lead and oversee all aspects of financial management, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, reporting and risk management. Client and Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and suppliers. Represent the company at industry events and in negotiations with key partners. To be successful you will possess: Proven experience in senior leadership roles within the food or export industry, preferably with expertise in meat processing or cold chain logistics. A strong understanding of legal frameworks, regulations, and compliance standards relevant to corporate operations. Knowledge of marketing strategies and leveraging events and partnerships to support business objectives. Proficiency in understanding of financial acumen, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and risk management. Experience in conducting financial analysis, interpreting data, and providing actionable insights for decision-making and optimisation. An ability to oversee day-to-day operations with focus on long-term strategic goals. Experience in change management, including fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and adaptability. Proficient in preparing and presenting reports to the Board, providing financial insights and recommendations to optimise performance. If this sounds like you, then we would love to hear from you!
