Responsibilities
Concept development: Use art, business, and engineering to create concepts for new products
Product testing: Test products throughout the development process
Problem solving: Determine the need for a product, anticipate production issues, and develop solutions
Consideration of factors: Consider the product's function, aesthetics, production costs, usability, ergonomics, materials, sustainability, and market trends
Skills
Technical skills: Understand how products are engineered and be able to use design software
Creative skills: Have a good eye for detail and be able to explain ideas to non-experts
Interpersonal skills: Be able to collaborate with others across multidisciplinary teams
Research skills: Be able to research and solve problems
