Backend (Node.js) Developer - AI Fintech Startup

Pi is an AI-native Fintech startup building ML platforms for financial advisory and wealth management. We are a pre-seed funded AI Fintech startup, founded by Rakesh Bhunatar and Raj Kollimarla. Pi is building its core team currently and this is an opportunity to be among the first 20 employees of the company and experience exponential growth potential on all fronts – work profile, learnings, and compensation.  We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Developer with expertise in Node.js and MongoDB to join our team. As a key contributor to India’s preferred fintech app, you will collaborate with a team of experienced developers to design, build, and optimize scalable backend systems. • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and high-performance backend systems using Node.js and MongoDB .
• Architect and implement RESTful APIs, GraphQL, webhooks, and secure authentication mechanisms (OAuth, JWT, etc.) .
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (frontend, product, DevOps, and QA) to ensure seamless integration with web and mobile applications .
• Write efficient, reusable, and modular code following best practices.
• Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation , including API specs, system design, and data flow diagrams.
• Optimize database performance , indexing strategies, and query execution plans to handle large-scale data efficiently .
• Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with industry standards (GDPR, SOC2, etc.).
• Troubleshoot, debug, and enhance existing backend systems to improve performance, scalability, and reliability .
• Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting solutions to proactively identify and resolve issues.
• Work with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) for smooth deployments.

• 3-5 Years of work experience in Node.js; familiarity with Golang is a plus
• Proficiency in designing backend architecture and scalable systems.
• Hands-on experience with API development, webhooks, and authentication methods.
• Excellent understanding of database design, indexing, and query optimization.
• Strong skills in creating and managing technical documentation.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
