Description

Job Title: Stream Head/Head - IFRS Reporting

This role is responsible for providing high-level technical accounting expertise and strategic business partnership to the VEON Group.

Duties:

• Perform IFRS technical accounting assessments for VEON Group transactions, including preparation of supporting position papers and presentations to key stakeholders.
• Prepare and review Group statutory annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local GAAP requirements.
• Review and execute quarterly financial reporting controls and procedures to support the preparation and review of Group quarterly and annual financial statements.
• Act as a strategic business partner for ongoing strategic projects within the VEON Group.
• Provide IFRS accounting advice on complex areas to other HQ functions.
• Review and coordinate Treasury accounting related matters, including incremental borrowing rate and fair value of Group Debt.
• Support Operating Companies in application and compliance with IFRS on non-routine transactions.
• Monitor changes in IFRS accounting pronouncements and assess their impact on the VEON Group.

Requirements:

• Extensive IFRS technical accounting expertise and knowledge.
• Accounting certification (ACCA, CPA, RA) is required.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in a similar role or within a Big 4 firm.
• Experience in researching and concluding on technical and complex accounting matters.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask priorities, and work under pressure with strict deadlines.
• Strong project management and relationship building skills.
• Analytical and conceptual thinker.
• Proactive and self-starter, ability to work independently.
• Collaborative team member.
• Experience working in multicultural environments.
• Strong presentation and communication skills in English.
