Job Description: PVC Compounding Manager The PVC Compounding Manager oversees the formulation, production, and quality assurance processes for polyvinyl chloride (PVC) compounds. This role involves managing raw materials, supervising staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and optimizing production efficiency to meet requirements. The manager is responsible for leading a team and collaborating with other departments. Key Responsibilities: 1. Formulation Development: Develop and optimize PVC compounding formulations to meet specific application requirements (e.g., rigid, flexible, medical, or industrial). Conduct trials to improve material properties like tensile strength, flexibility etc. 2. Production Oversight: Manage daily PVC compounding operations, ensuring production schedules are met. Monitor equipment, such as high-speed mixers, extruders, and pelletizers, to ensure efficient performance. Minimize waste and maximize yield by implementing best practices. 3. Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce quality control protocols for raw materials, in-process materials, and finished compounds. Collaborate with the quality team to troubleshoot and resolve quality issues. 4. Team Management: Supervise, train, and evaluate the performance of production staff and technical personnel. Ensure team adherence to safety protocols and company policies. 5. Raw Material Management: Select and approve raw materials (PVC resin, plasticizers, stabilizers, fillers, pigments, etc.). Coordinate with procurement to maintain appropriate inventory levels. 6. Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., REACH, RoHS) and environmental regulations. Maintain proper documentation for audits and certifications. 7. Process Improvement: Identify and implement process optimizations to reduce costs and enhance productivity. Stay updated on technological advancements and industry trends in PVC compounding. Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's degree in Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 5-7 years of experience in PVC compounding or a similar role. Strong knowledge of PVC compounding materials, additives, and processes. Familiarity with production equipment and quality testing methods. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and leadership skills.
