We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Geriatrician to provide comprehensive healthcare services to older adults. The ideal candidate will specialize in diagnosing, treating, and managing the unique medical and psychosocial needs of aging patients. This role involves working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to promote the health, independence, and quality of life of geriatric patients. Key Responsibilities: Patient Care:

  • Provide medical care for acute and chronic illnesses commonly affecting older adults, including dementia, arthritis, osteoporosis, and cardiovascular diseases.
  • Conduct thorough assessments, including geriatric syndromes, functional status, and cognitive evaluations.
  • Develop individualized care plans tailored to patients’ needs and preferences.
Collaboration:
  • Work closely with families, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals (e.g., nurses, social workers, therapists) to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
  • Coordinate with specialists to manage complex comorbidities effectively.
Preventative Care:
  • Promote healthy aging through preventive care measures, including screenings, vaccinations, and lifestyle modifications.
End-of-Life Care:
  • Provide palliative care and counsel patients and families on advanced care planning and end-of-life decisions.
Education and Training:
  • Educate patients, caregivers, and healthcare teams on geriatric care best practices.
  • Participate in the training of medical students, residents, or other healthcare providers if applicable.
Administrative Duties:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and adhere to clinical guidelines and policies.
Qualifications:
  • Education: MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Training: Completed residency in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine and a fellowship in Geriatrics (preferred).
  • Licensure/Certification:
  • Board certification/eligibility in Geriatrics or related specialty.
  • Valid medical license to practice in [insert state/country].
  • Experience: Prior experience in geriatrics or primary care is an advantage but not mandatory.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Compassionate and empathetic approach to elderly care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
