Job details

To monitor, analyze, and optimize the performance of applications within the Unified Command Center, ensuring reliability, scalability, and alignment with service excellence goals.

Role and Responsibilities

  1. Monitor key application performance metrics, including response times, throughput, error rates, and reliability, ensuring they meet SLA/SLO targets.
  2. Analyze application trends and identify bottlenecks, slowdowns, or errors, providing actionable recommendations for performance improvement.
  3. Collaborate with development and operations teams to optimize application performance across all stages of the development lifecycle.
  4. Support the root cause analysis (RCA) for application performance issues, working closely with cross-functional teams to resolve them effectively.
  5. Support the integration and use of Application Performance Monitoring (APM) tools, ensuring accurate data collection and visualization of performance metrics.
  6. Provide performance insights and reports to stakeholders, highlighting trends, anomalies, and improvement opportunities.
  7. Work closely with the Observability Experience SME to ensure observability frameworks capture application-level metrics comprehensively.
  8. Recommend proactive measures to support application reliability and growth.
  9. Collaborate with network and infrastructure teams to address issues that impact application performance indirectly.
  10. Stay updated with the latest application performance trends and technologies, ensuring the organization adopts best practices.

Qualifications and Education Requirement

Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, IT Computer Science, or a related field. Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in application performance monitoring, troubleshooting, or optimization within IT operations or a command center environment.

Skills

  1. Experience with using APM observability platforms and optimizing software performance.
  2. Strong understanding of application architectures, including microservices, APIs, and databases, and their impact on performance.
  3. Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving performance issues across complex distributed systems.
  4. Knowledge of SLA/SLO metrics and how to track and measure them effectively.
  5. Strong analytical skills for interpreting application performance data and identifying root causes.
  6. Experience with capacity planning and scalability for high-performance applications.
  7. Familiarity with scripting and automation tools for performance tuning and testing.
  8. Knowledge of modern development practices such as CI/CD and their impact on application performance.
