The Procurement Officer is responsible for managing the procurement process within the organization, ensuring the acquisition of high-quality goods and services while adhering to budgetary constraints and operational guidelines. This individual will play a crucial role in enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of procurement strategies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and fostering relationships with suppliers.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with the organization's objectives.
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including sourcing, negotiating, contracting, and purchasing goods and services.
- Create and maintain relationships with suppliers to secure favorable terms and ensure quality delivery.
- Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and analyze market trends to inform purchasing decisions.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies and regulatory requirements, maintaining transparency and accountability in all procurement activities.
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, addressing any issues as they arise to maintain high standards of service delivery.
- Prepare and maintain detailed procurement records, reports, and documentation to provide insights and facilitate audits.
- Collaborate with internal departments to assist in defining procurement needs and ensuring alignment with broader organizational goals.
- Participate in budget planning and forecasting to ensure that procurement activities remain within budgetary limits.
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of procurement processes and supply chain management principles.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with various stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Desired Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a procurement role, preferably within a similar industry.
- Demonstrated experience in vendor management and negotiating contracts.
- Experience in managing budgets and conducting cost analyses.
