This Procurement Senior Manager role is responsible for the Category Management and Business Operation of direct materials for the Clorox Abudawood Saudi Joint Venture. The spend portfolio is approximately $23M USD annually covering Resin, Flexible & Rigid Packaging, and Chemicals (e.g. High Strength Bleach). This position is responsible for:

  1. Leading, developing and executing the sourcing strategies of existing and new direct materials to drive cost advantages, and support product growth initiatives.
  2. Leading and influencing cross-functional teams for local and global sourcing projects.
  3. Supplier relationship management, contracts, payment term extensions, negotiations, supply assurance and risk management.
  4. Price forecasting based on commodities market movement
  5. Approximately 5% International travel
Key Responsibilities (in descending order of importance):
  • Work with the internal & global stakeholders to develop a comprehensive category-sourcing strategy
  • Supply assurance of existing spend
  • Maintain spend under contract
  • Active management of the supply chain to drive cost advantage for Clorox
  • Develop and communicate the sourcing timeline for new projects (10%).
  • Manage the overall sourcing approval process (10%).
  • Represent the sourcing team to stakeholders and management (5%).
  • Evaluate project successes and failures and drives process changes to improve future projects (5%).
  • Work with R&D and project teams to ensure early involvement of procurement expertise in new innovation projects involving specified materials and services (5%).
Scope Factors
  • Internal: Working with manager and cross functional partners (Saudi Plant Buyers, Production team, Technical Services, Quality and R&D) to implement sourcing projects and new product launches.
  • Global: Collaborate with the Global Procurement Organisation to identify synergies and leverage scale with related Global category strategies, suppliers and tenders.
  • External: Build relationships with suppliers to drive collaboration and mutual benefits, continuous improvement and innovation.
  • The role needs to be able to influence top management and internal stakeholders by providing advice, recommendations and strategic procurement plans.
  • They also lead procurement change iniatives and manage procurement activities at various levels.
Minimum Requirements: Years and Type of Experience :
  • 10+ years of sourcing (preferred), total supply chain (internal candidates) or CPG industry experience (preferred)
  • Arabic and English proficiency
  • Working with direct materials suppliers
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams and driving consensus
  • Contract development and negotiation
  • Handling multiple projects/responsibilities and adapt to changing priorities as well as differing priorities with internal stakeholders

Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Team player with initiative and strong listening, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel, and ERP systems (SAP, Netsuit)
  • Understanding of fundamental Sourcing concepts: Category Management experience desirable
  • Ability to work independently, creatively and efficiently with minimal direction in an unstructured environment
  • Planning and organization skills: ability to establish work plans, “multi-task”, and prioritize simultaneous projects
  • Ability to streamline and drive sustainable process improvement (versus firefighting)
  • Thorough and detail oriented. Ability to mine, sort, and clean data from various sources/systems
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Analytical Thinking / Problem Solving - Sorts through complex issues, identifies alternatives and makes recommendations.
  • Integrates information from multiple sources, assesses and communicates it properly
Desirable:
  • Project Management and Change Management experience
Education Level/Degree:
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
