Flex Commodities DMCC is seeking a Junior Bunker/Marine Fuels Trader to join our energetic trading team. This role involves managing marine fuel transactions from end-to-end, including purchasing and selling fuel for vessels, ensuring competitive pricing, and coordinating efficient delivery logistics. The ideal candidate will cultivate strong relationships with clients and suppliers, negotiate agreements, and proactively oversee the trade lifecycle. Staying updated on market trends, prices, and managing financial and operational risks will be crucial to success in this role. This position requires industry expertise, negotiation skills, and the ability to make prompt, well-informed decisions in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Perform back-to-back bunker trading transactions.
- Work collaboratively with the team to secure reliable supply sources.
- Build and maintain connections with ship owners, operators, and charterers to grow the client base.
- Ensure timely collection of accounts receivable for all transactions.
- Provide daily price updates from suppliers to the team and clients.
- Accurately document all trade activities, including payment tracking, in Excel and the company’s ERP system.
- Maintain a comprehensive database of inquiries and deals.
- Meet KPIs and monthly sales targets.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Maritime Studies, Logistics, or a related field preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience in bunker trading or a related maritime industry role.
- Strong knowledge of the maritime sector, including vessel operations, fuel specifications, and international bunkering regulations.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
