Key Roles & Responsibilities:

Financial Performance Reporting

  1. Manage EDB financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
  2. Improve or replace financial models used to generate financial performance reports for CFO & Executive Committee.
  3. Establish a weekly dashboard for CEO & CFO based on key financial metrics and organizational scorecard targets.
  4. Presentation and distribution of financial information should be best practice in nature – graphic, frequent, and timely.
  5. Support financial analysis with insight and recommend strategies to improve financial performance.
  6. Escalate urgent issues to CFO and/or EXCOM as required.
  7. Act as a source of market intelligence through comparative analysis vs peer banks and regional based financial institutions.
  8. Develop segment, customer, and product-based financials at EDB integrated with Financial Performance Reporting.

Cost Management

  1. Act as the centre of excellence for management and reporting of costs across EDB and its subsidiaries.
  2. Establish project and capex accounting reporting and analysis at EDB including requisite controls to support accuracy.
  3. Provide recommendations to CFO and EXCOM on effective and sustainable cost management on a forward-looking basis.

Governance and Oversight:

  1. Act as the key point of contact for Financial Performance Reports that are distributed to CFO and EXCOM. This will involve attributing and explaining financial outcomes.
  2. Provide support to Board Committees as instructed including, but not limited to, review and preparation of financial reports and analysis included.
  3. Become knowledge experts on Policy and Procedures as it pertains to Financial Reporting, and use this knowledge to propose changes that will improve efficiency and effectiveness of governance and oversight.
  4. Provide guidance and mentorship to colleagues in the Finance department.
  5. Role model behaviors to staff when engaging with stakeholders.
  6. Develop and foster best practice financial modelling skills across the team.
