Assisting in preparing ingredients for cooking, such as peeling, cutting, chopping, and measuring ingredients according to recipes or the instructions of senior chefs. Assisting in cooking and assembling dishes based on established recipes and guidelines. This may involve grilling, sautéing, frying, baking, or other cooking techniques as directed by senior chefs. Ensuring that the assigned workstation is clean, well-stocked, and organized. This includes arranging ingredients, utensils, and equipment systematically for efficient workflow. Following recipes accurately and precisely to ensure consistency and maintain the desired taste, texture, and presentation of dishes. Assisting in portioning and plating dishes according to established standards, paying attention to proper portion sizes, garnishing, and overall aesthetics. Assisting with the organization and inventory management of ingredients and supplies. This may involve monitoring stock levels, restocking ingredients, and reporting any shortages or issues to senior chefs. Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen area, including cleaning work surfaces, utensils, and equipment, and maintaining overall kitchen hygiene. Adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines. Being able to handle various tasks and adapt to changing circumstances in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
