Summit Medical Staffing Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Enumclaw, Washington.

Hey all, heads up, this spot does require you to be willing to float to other facilities in region, but additional compensation is included when floated outside of primary facility.

# of beds 23 beds (19 med-surg, 4 PCU/ICU).

Can convert 2 med-surg beds to PCU if needed.

Ratios Med-Surg Team Nursing Model would be 1 RN, 1 LPN, 1 CNA for 9-10 patients.

PCU is 1 RN for 3-4 patients. ICU 1:1 or 1:2 patients.

Required certifications BLS, PEARS or PALS - facility will help them sign up for a PALS class while onsite

Common diagnoses/Types of patients Acute Care may admit patients ages 4 years old and up. ED cares for patients of all ages.

General Medical-Telemetry (e.g. Pediatric GI patients, Heart Failure, Pneumonia)

General Surgical (e.g. Knee/Hip Replacements, GI Surgeries, Hysterectomies)

Critical Care (e.g. Severe Sepsis, DKA, Alcohol Withdrawal)

Experience or 'Must have' skills BLS

Are RNs required to titrate drips Cardiac drips titrated for telemetry patients

Common titratable &/or set rate drips Heparin, Nitro up to 30mcg, Dopamine up to 5mg, Dobutamine up to 5mg

Charge Nurse/House Supervisor Charge Nurse and/or Hospital Resource Nurse (HRN) on every shift. SWAT RNs support PICC/midline/IV needs. HRN supports pharmacy needs after hours.

Are there nurse aids on this unit/Ratios 2 CNAs staffed for each shift with 10-12 patients per CNA

RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc) All modes of oxygen delivery available from nasal cannula to BiPap, Cpap, Vents, high flow O2, all managed by RT

Is there tele on this unit Monitor Techs RNs read strips Yes. Monitor tech who help interpret cardiac rhythms are monitoring patients remotely. RNs need to sign off on monitor tech interpretations and know how to read strips.

Shifts & Scheduling Day shift 6am-6:30pm

Night shift 6pm-6:30am

Weekend Requirement Every other. Nights: friday saturday sunday. Days: Saturday Sunday.

Holiday Requirement Rotate with permanent staff.

Is there a call or standby requirement No

Floating Requirements May be asked to float to support ICU RNs with direct patient care tasks as needed. This is a combined unit.

Scrub Color/Dress Code Any color professional scrubs

Unit/Department specific orientation 3-4 shifts

Additional Notes Critical Access Hospital.

CNAs are also trained to support checking blood sugars, removing peripheral IV catheters, removing urinary catheters.

Additional Questions

Cancellation Policy: Hospital can cancel up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment, 3 shifts for assignments that are less than 13 weeks
