Job Description:- Team lead for a new DevOps group focused on delivering automation and developer productivity gains to a large R&D organization.
- Will work with R&D leads and with other stakeholders to identify bottlenecks in current processes and develop and deploy tools to improve productivity and software quality.
- Develop code in Python within a distributed software development environment with other contributors from around the world.
- Create new internal tools using web technologies – JavaScript/MySQL etc – on a Linux platform.
- Provide day-to-day leadership, mentoring, code review, and project management for a small team of developers to ensure that projects are delivered on time and with high quality and maintainability.
- Become the “go-to” contact for productivity and quality processes questions and automation requests for a large R&D organization.
- Role will include some responsibilities for C++ code within existing Cadence products.
- Complete Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, and related areas, or another numerate discipline such as Physics or Mathematics.
- At least 5 years of relevant work experience including some mentoring, technical leadership, and project management. Dynamic with an appetite for new responsibilities and experience.
- Strong programming and software engineering experience in Python and JavaScript or comparable languages. Some exposure to C-like languages (C/C++/Java/C# etc.).
- Knowledge of modern Web development practices and frameworks on Linux including command line and basic administration.
- Interest in software engineering: language features, data structures, design patterns, unit testing, automation tools.
- Proficiency in a version control system (Perforce/Git etc.).
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English and a good team player.
- Knowledge of GitHub Enterprise or another CICD system.
- Experience in a DevOps team.
