Your Role at Mercoms Systems As a Technical Engineer (AV, VC & ICT) , You will play a key role in ensuring client solution requirements are met in alignment with established service level practices. You will support the deployment of various AV (Audio-Visual), VC (Video Conferencing), and ICT (Information and Communication Technology) equipment, working closely with systems integrators to deliver exceptional results. What You’ll Be Doing Responsibilities & Duties
- Design and implement audio-visual and control systems tailored to client needs.
- Perform testing, commissioning, and setup of AV equipment, including video systems, sound systems, control systems, and video conferencing tools.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with AV systems to ensure seamless operation.
- Configure, program, and calibrate AV equipment for optimal performance.
- Provide technical support and product training to users on AV system operation.
- Collaborate with network ICT engineers to integrate AV systems into network infrastructure.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest AV technologies and industry trends.
- Interpret and implement detailed system installation diagrams and technical documentation.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Provide both pre- and post-sales assistance to clients.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Audio Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
- Certifications such as CTS (Certified Technology Specialist), CTS-D (Certified Technology Specialist - Design), or Audiovisual Network Professional Certification are an added advantage.
- Experience with the setup, programming, and operation of AV control systems such as Q-Sys or AMX.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or other drawing software for system layout.
- Expertise in networking and IP-based AV solutions.
- Strong understanding of acoustics and sound system design, including modelling with EASE 5.0.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Willingness to stay current with evolving AV technologies.
- Proven experience as an AV Engineer or in a similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of AV systems and components.
- Hands-on experience with the installation and configuration of AV equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users clearly.
- Flexibility to travel to different sites for installations and support.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations related to AV installations.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
