First Nations Career Specialist - Alice SpringsAbout the roleWorking within the ARRCS First Nations Program team, ARRCS are actively sourcing a First Nations Career Specialist to join the team on a permanent, full-time basis. This role attracts a salary of $45.34 - $48.79 per hour (estimated $89,596 - $96,411 per annum) dependent on skills and experience.This role is based in Alice Springs and will primarily see you working with new and existing trainees to support career pathways and lifestyle plans in Aged and Disability care. In addition, you will work with your colleagues by providing strong advocacy for First Nations and maintaining their connection to community.This role would ideally suit a positive and proactive candidate who is wishing to support the career and lifestyle of our First Nation people. You will be confident to speak out in public, approach staff and provide guidance and mentorship to them.Relocation of up to $5K applicable for interstate applicants.Benefits of working for us4 Weeks Annual Leave + 17.5% Leave Loading.Annual salary increases in accordance with our current Enterprise Agreement.Access to 70,000 Training and Development Courses through our Learning Platform.Telus Employee Wellbeing & Emotional Support.Skills & experienceTo be considered for this role, we will be looking at the following experience and qualifications:Knowledge and ability to speak in Aboriginal language and have in-depth cultural knowledge of First Nation people.Personal advocate and passion to promote and support First Nation people (preferably youth) and the development of career pathways.Demonstrated sensitivity to the cultural requirements of indigenous people and their families.Demonstrated experience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, preferably in a mentoring capacity.A demonstrated understanding of the issues facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities with preference to youth employment.Initiative to work autonomously and sound judgement.Comfortable to work remotely with your management team regionally based.Ability to travel to communities surrounding Alice Springs to support and promote our Traineeship program.Ability to follow systems and processes to maintain accurate records.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to use initiative to maximise positive outcomes.Must be able to commit to full-time hours of 38 per week and to a set roster of Monday – Friday.About ARRCSAustralian Regional and Remote Community Services (ARRCS) is a not-for-profit aged care and community service provider that provides services including Residential Care, Home Care, School Nutrition, and Early Learning Childhood programs in the Northern Territory.Our Vision is passionately pursuing new ways to care where people and communities flourish and lead meaningful lives.
