Job Purpose/Summary To respond to machine breakdowns and liaise with operating personnel to resolve/repair run issues in a busy print manufacturing environment. To maintain a range of automated machinery including regular maintenance of machinery and the use of fault-finding methods to establish the cause of breakdowns or machine failures and repair/replace appropriate parts as necessary. Job Responsibilities/Key Accountabilities

1. Investigate faults and diagnostics - Fault find problems with machines (both electrical and mechanical) using a systematic approach to problems and problem-solving techniques.
2. Improve and perform maintenance procedures used on all machines on site.
3. Log and record duties performed.
4. Analyse trends in recurring faults and breakdowns.
5. General housekeeping of stores and engineering areas.
6. Stocktaking.
7. Ordering spare parts and components.
8. Basic electrical repairs.
9. Participation in improvement projects.
10. Develop and maintain a professional customer relationship with operators of the machines and work together to improve the flow of communication regarding faults and work in partnership to increase the performance of all machines.
11. Work to the expected safety standard.

Qualifications

1. Relevant mechanical qualifications desired but not essential.
2. A third level qualification essential.
3. Relevant electrical qualification essential.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

1. 5 years experience in automated machinery ideally in a manufacturing/production environment.
2. Good level of computer literacy.
3. Methodical and ability to prioritize workload.
4. Electrical and mechanical capabilities.
