Introduction Our mission is to establish a new IBM Z development team in Waterford, Ireland. We will integrate our new team in the global IBM Z development community. We will connect with regional IBM and RedHat teams. We will closely work with academia, provide tailored IBM Z education at universities. By performing Industrial Research, we will deliver crucial and highly innovative products to our enterprise clients and influence IBM's strategy for IBM Z multi-architecture deployments, Linux, and AI. Your Role and Responsibilities
- Lead new IBM Z development first line organization.
- Provide strong people management and guidance.
- Manage hiring, onboarding, education for new hires.
- Actively support leadership development: mentor talents, retain critical skills, enable growth (technical and soft skills, share strategy and client insights).
- Manage liaison with RedHat to enable a strong mutual collaboration.
- Closely collaborate with program management to define strategy, product plans and priorities.
- Engage with international development counterparts to synchronize on product stakes and deliveries. Ensure that the new team will become a well recognized and trusted player in IBM’s Development and Research Community.
- Apply agile project management.
- Manage unexpected challenges that come along with first-of-a-kind missions.
- Enable and support our technical team to deliver top class products.
- Create a productive and efficient work environment, plan and control infrastructure requirements, define and establish processes.
- Top people management, project management and leadership skills.
- Experience from multiple 1st line positions.
- Broad technical experience from various development projects.
- Strong network within IBM, with universities and clients.
- Passion for IBM Z and Open Source.
- Experience in building new teams.
- High interest in technical innovation.
