Project: Defensive Medicine: Institution, Practices, and Emotional Impact Role: Post-Doctoral Researcher (PD1) Job Description Purpose and Overview The purpose of this role is to conduct a programme of qualitative research on the subject of Defensive Medicine under the supervision of Dr Barry Lyons, School of Medicine, Trinity College Dublin. The work will be located in Trinity College Dublin, and Children’s Health Ireland over 18 months. It is possible that some of the work can be carried out remotely. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research under the guidance of the PI. The research will be carried out as an iterative process including literature review, survey, interviews, and a Delphi group. The PD researcher will be expected to contribute to all aspects of this process.
- Conduct the research to the highest ethical standards.
- Conduct interviews under the guidance of the PI.
- Engage in data analysis in respect of findings.
- Carry out any administrative work associated with the programme of research.
- Engage in the dissemination of the results of the research for the relevant research stakeholders in a variety of forms.
- Training and experience in all aspects of qualitative methodology.
- Significant knowledge of a health-related social science, or medico-legal discipline and field, and the operational requirements necessary to complete a successful research project.
