Job details

Basic Function The Fuel Controller is responsible for overseeing and managing fuel usage, monitoring diesel availability and ensuring cost-effective fuel consumption across the fleet. This role involves ensuring fuel accountability, optimizing fuel usage, and collaborating with drivers and the operation & maintenance team and finance team reconciliation with auditing to maintain operational efficiency. Duties And Responsibilities

  1. Track fuel consumption for all vehicles in the fleet, ensuring records & turnovers are accurate and up to date.
  2. Maintain fuel availability, ensuring adequate fuel is available to avoid operational delays.
  3. Conduct routine fuel audits and investigate discrepancies in fuel usage.
  4. Monitor and analyze fuel usage trends to recommend operational improvements.
  5. Work closely with operation & drivers to ensure proper fueling practices are followed.
  6. Provide guidance and training on fuel-efficient driving techniques when required.
  7. Ensure adherence to company policies and meet the target budget regarding fuel handling and usage.
  8. Generate and submit periodic fuel usage reports for management review.
  9. Ensure timely deliveries from fuel suppliers and resolve any errors in the Petroapp portal.
Education And Qualification Diploma Degree Professional Experience
  1. Proven experience in transport/fleet management or diesel monitoring roles.
  2. Knowledge of vehicle fuel systems and basic maintenance is an advantage.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  4. Familiarity with fuel tracking software and GPS systems.
  5. Strong knowledge of industry regulations regarding fuel consumption and transportation.
Skills And Attributes
  1. Strong understanding of diesel and fuel management principles.
  2. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  3. Proficiency in using fleet management software and tools.
  4. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  5. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with diverse teams.
  6. Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
