Job Description

  1. Define and develop consultants approach for HSE & Worker Welfare Assurance and ensure alignment with the overall project delivery strategy.
  2. Involve with a robust prequalification process to ensure the competency of the proposed contractors with regards to HSE management.
  3. Develop and deliver a monitoring schedule including tours, inspections, and audits of site and onsite welfare facilities.
  4. Lead weekly formal Health and Safety inspections, workshops, and meetings as required plus raise and verify close out of observations and actions identified.
  5. Chair weekly Health and Safety meetings with contractor's Health and Safety and management teams.
  6. Ensure the implementation by the contractor, subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors working under WME supervision contracts in line with the requirements set in general conditions of construction contracts, legal, and other requirements.
  7. Ensure construction Health and Safety plans are in place for each contractor before construction begins.
  8. Review, approve, and verify the implementation of the contractor's Health and Safety plans, method statements, and risk assessments (MS/RA), and all other deliverables as defined in the HSEQ manual.
  9. Ensure that the contractor provides a sufficient number of competent Health and Safety professionals to satisfy both legal and Employer requirements. The assessment of competence should include an interview.
  10. Ensure the contractor provides an adequate competent resource for Health and Safety critical roles such as appointed persons and those trained in emergency response. Competency assessment may include interviews.
  11. Carry out Health and Safety pre-start kick-off meetings with contractors as per the employer's agendas and requirements. Interface with contractors and employer's Health and Safety departments.
