Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Value Engineer with 8 years of expertise to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for evaluating the cost-effectiveness and performance of engineering projects, identifying opportunities for value optimization, and proposing innovative solutions that balance cost, quality, and function. The Value Engineer will work closely with design, engineering, procurement, and project management teams to deliver projects that meet client requirements while ensuring the most efficient use of resources. The Job is in Al Qassim.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct value engineering studies on engineering projects to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality, safety, or performance.
  2. Review project designs, specifications, and construction methods to assess cost-efficiency and performance effectiveness.
  3. Develop alternative solutions and propose modifications to design, materials, processes, and systems to reduce costs and enhance project value.
  4. Collaborate with project teams, including architects, engineers, and contractors, to evaluate design changes and their potential impact on cost and quality.
  5. Prepare detailed reports outlining the benefits of proposed value engineering changes, including cost savings, technical advantages, and project enhancements.
  6. Analyze lifecycle costs, including maintenance, energy efficiency, and sustainability, to optimize long-term project value.
  7. Facilitate workshops and meetings with stakeholders to present value engineering solutions and negotiate feasible changes.
  8. Coordinate with procurement teams to evaluate supplier options and material alternatives to reduce costs while maintaining performance standards.
  9. Ensure that all value engineering proposals comply with industry standards, regulations, and client requirements.
  10. Monitor the implementation of value engineering recommendations and verify that changes are successfully applied during the project lifecycle.
  11. Review and analyze project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure alignment with cost-saving strategies and project goals.
  12. Track and report on the effectiveness of implemented value engineering solutions throughout the project.
  13. Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, technologies, and cost-saving strategies to enhance value engineering practices.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field).
  2. At least 8 years of experience in value engineering, cost optimization, or project management in an engineering or construction environment.
  3. Strong understanding of engineering design processes, materials, systems, and cost management.
  4. Experience with value engineering techniques and methodologies, including cost-benefit analysis and life-cycle cost analysis.
  5. Proficiency in engineering and project management software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Project, Excel, etc.).
  6. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  7. Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  8. Knowledge of industry standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements.
  9. Ability to balance technical, cost, and performance considerations effectively.
  10. Proven experience in managing and delivering value engineering initiatives in large-scale projects.

Preferred Skills:

  1. Professional certification in value engineering (e.g., SAVE International certification) is a plus.
  2. Experience with specific industries such as construction, manufacturing, or infrastructure.
  3. Knowledge of sustainable design practices and green building certifications (e.g., LEED).
  4. Project management experience, including budget control, scheduling, and resource allocation.
