Senior Executive - Legal Services (Corporate)

Job Description

POSITION GENERAL SUMMARY To assist the General Manager, Senior Manager, and Manager in the daily requirements such as providing legal services on all aspects of law, safeguarding the Company and its group's interests, and ensuring that their rights are protected at all times. ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS

1. Providing legal advice whenever requested on matters relating to various aspects of laws including interpretation of statutes, laws, terms and conditions of agreements, and issues relating to the day-to-day operation of the Company.
2. Assisting the Legal Manager and Senior Manager in advising the Company in its day-to-day legal matters.
3. Drafting, preparing, and negotiating Agreements/Opinions; corporate, joint venture, construction, commercial, and tenancy/concession contracts/agreements; and scrutinizing contracts and tender documents for the divisions and subsidiaries of the company.
4. Managing the litigation files of the Company including issuance of internal letters of demand, drafting letters of undertaking in respect of the settlement of debts, providing advice on litigation matters, issuing instruction letters to proceed with legal action to external solicitors, and preparing status reports.
5. Providing strategic legal advice on litigation matters and instructing external solicitors when necessary.
6. All other duties as instructed by the General Manager and/or Senior Manager and/or Manager from time to time.

• To avoid multiple claims against the Company in respect of matters assigned to Legal Services.

Relevant Industries

Called to the Bar. Direct working exposure in corporate, litigation, property, project development/management, and construction industry will be an added advantage.

Minimum Requirements

External : At least a minimum of 5 years of professional legal experience and familiarity with land and property matters, project, construction, compliance, commercial, financial, and/or corporate matters.

Education
