Qualification and experience

  • Possess a diploma or certificate in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering or equivalent
  • > 15 years’ (certificate) or > 7 years’ (diploma) experience of designing in the Electrical discipline in the Oil and Gas/ Petrochemicals Industry, Engineering or EPCIC background.
Experience in all lifecycles of O&G development project, Concept, FEED and DDE preferred
  • MBOT registered preferred
  • Understanding of international codes and standards, i.e. IEC, IEEE, IALA, ICAO.
  • Working knowledge with international Oil & Gas company standards, i.e. SHELL DEP, PETRONAS PTS Guidelines, Equinor guidelines, NORSOK
  • Hands-on experience with Electrical Engineering Software i.e Auto Cad, PDMS Draft.

Abilities and knowledge

  • Working knowledge in 3D modelling is required
  • Extensive design experience in Electrical Design
  • Familiar with the design and operation of Electrical Packages including Switch gear, Transformer, UPS, Navigational Aids etc
  • Familiar with the design and operation of main Mechanical Packages including Emergency Diesel Generator, Gas Turbine Generator, HVAC etc
  • Hands-on Experience in producing interconnection diagram for main Electrical, Mechanical, and Instrument packages
  • Fluent to communicate in English (verbal and written)
  • Proficient in negotiation with clients and internal clients
  • Experience in Leading medium / large project team
  • Extensive experience to translate project and client requirement to Electrical Engineering Deliverables
  • Able to provide work direction/ supervision to staff at lower levels and liaise with Lead Designer for all work-related activities
  • Understand the contractual scope of work and raise variation requests for any work not covered as part of the work scope but is required to be undertaken for job completion.
