Department of Premier and CabinetKeeping Children SafeCOI Coordination Taskforce Applications must be submitted by Thursday 06 February, 2025 11:55 PM AEST Award/Classification: Senior Executive - Level 1 - Payment of Salary above the base salary of the advertised range is subject to an annual performance assessment $156,075.00 to $171,573.00 Pro rata, per annum Employment type: Fixed-term, full-time, Senior Executive Region: South The purpose of this role is to progress the development and implementation of a whole-of-government strategy and action plan to guide and support the government’s response to the Commission of Inquiry into the Tasmanian Government’s Response to Child Sexual Abuse in Institutional Settings (the Commission of Inquiry) recommendations. This includes engaging with stakeholders and actively assisting staff and senior members in embracing changes in processes, systems and culture. Duties The Director–key result areas include: Providing strategic advice to the Premier, relevant portfolio Ministers and the Cabinet on significant issues and reform relating to the Premier’s and the Government’s priority to implement the recommendations of the Commission of Inquiry into the Tasmanian Government’s Responses to Child Sexual Abuse in Institutional Settings. Leading, driving and coordinating the delivery and development of the whole-of-government response to keep children safe, across portfolios and agencies, that will have critical impact on both Government policy and priorities and meeting the Department’s objectives. Managing and resolving urgent and immediate priority issues and structural reform for the Premier as they arise, particularly for matters relating to Commission of Inquiry recommendations. Leading and supporting outcomes and reforms at a state level. Representing the state at national reform meetings. Undertaking sensitive and complex negotiations at senior executive levels with agencies of the Tasmanian and other governments, including, where necessary, working with advisers from Ministerial offices. Working collaboratively with agencies to deliver the Premier’s and the Government’s priority of Keeping Children Safer and implementing all of the Commission of Inquiry’s recommendations. Supporting Tasmanian Government agencies in delivering outcomes and reforms, including alignment with Tasmania’s priorities and processes for implementing the Commission’s recommendations. Providing whole-of-government advice to the Premier and the Cabinet about a broad range of issues relating to the Government and impacts on Tasmanian Government priorities, policies and services. Leading and supporting the development and implementation of designated whole-of-government policies, processes and projects, and the delivery of departmental priorities, as required. Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of vulnerable people who may be associated with or located at the worksite (including children and young people) and immediately reporting any concerns, disclosures, allegations or suspicions of harm.
