Kia ora, Bula Vinaka, Fakaalofa lahi atu, Fakatalofa atu, Kia Orana, Mālō e lelei, Mālo ni, Talofa lava, Tēnā koutou katoa! At the Heart Foundation, we are driven by our purpose – to stop all people in New Zealand dying prematurely from heart disease and enable people with heart disease to live full lives. About the role: An exciting fixed-term opportunity to join our Prevention team as a Nutrition Advisor in the Auckland region. The purpose of this team is to educate New Zealanders on heart disease and highlight healthy living practices to help prevent heart disease. We work with schools, early learning services, and wider communities, helping them to make healthy changes to their food and lifestyles, providing nutrition advice, and improving the long-term heart health of the next generation.   Who we are looking for: If you're passionate about health and love helping others, you're our kind of person.  Excellent communication skills are a must, as the role involves engaging with diverse audiences, ranging from our tamariki to presenting to a school’s Board of Trustees.  This role is pretty independent, but you'll be part of a highly engaged team that’s committed to supporting each other with a shared vision of improving equity and heart health.  Individuals with experience in health promotion or a similar field are particularly encouraged to apply.  Our ideal candidate will have:
  • A track record of motivating individuals, groups, or organisations to embrace health-promoting practices.
  • Proven experience in facilitating and delivering effective and engaging presentations to a variety of audiences.
  • An understanding of the educational, socio-economic, and cultural factors that influence child health.
  • The ability to identify, analyse, and solve problems on a day-to-day basis without direct supervision.
  • Understanding of Tikanga Māori (te reo Māori language skills are a bonus) and knowledge of Pacific cultures.
  • Hold a current, clean full driver's license.
  • An ability to work effectively as part of a decentralised and geographically remote team.
In return we can offer:
  • A job with purpose and a competitive salary
  • Flexible Working Arrangements
  • Sick leave from day one of your employment
  • An additional paid day off each year for Heart Foundation Day
  • Training and development opportunities
  • Close-knit team driven by a great culture.
Here at the Heart Foundation, we embrace diversity and support the well-being of our people and will provide the tools you need to be successful in this role.
